r. Antonio Martins da Cunha is a specialist in sport medicine, nutrition and paediatrics of national and international renown, and has accrued great merit through his projects within the field of medical research. He can indisputably lay claim to being a citizen of the world based on his plentiful and lengthy professional sojourns in foreign countries.

Born in Brazil in 1955, Dr. Martins studied medicine in Brazil and England, where he then received his medical licence in December of 1979. He subsequently commenced his specialisation training in paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children, London, England, and next in Vienna, Austria, at the St. Anna Kinderspital. From 1983 to 1985 he acted as head of the bone marrow transplants department for the National Cancer Institute in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Once his specialisation training completed, Dr. Martins then headed the children's department of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (1989-1993). Upon his return from Saudi Arabia, Dr. Martins opened his own private practice in Vienna. Having held since always an avid interest in sports, Dr. Martins undertook all required courses, in record time, entitling him to the attainment of a licence in sport medicine. In 1996 he was awarded his diploma by the Austrian Chamber of Physicians. He then completed further diploma courses in nutritional medicine and homeopathy.

s his career progressed, Dr. Martins' attention focused on non-conventional medical alternatives such as TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). He pursued TCM instruction and studied the speciality of acupuncture in diverse institutes. His studies led him to various places of learning such as Beijing, Hong-Kong and Canton (China), Taipei (Taiwan) and Tokyo (Japan) during the years 1997 to 2002. Tokyo University conferred him with the title of Dr. H.C. in 2002 for his education in the branch of epidermic ailments.

In collaboration with Mag. Henrich Chomist and Mag. Stefan Potyka, Dr. Martins launched the Fachinstitut für Fitness und Lebensstilmedizin in Vienna
